Background
Big Apple Herpetological, Inc. began selling reptile supplies with its mail-order catalog in 1993 in New York City. In 1995, Big Apple launched its online catalog and moved to an expanded warehouse facility in Long Island, NY. Since that time Big Apple has evolved into one of the largest suppliers of reptile products in the United States. With a continued commitment to reptile care, as well as growth and development of new products in the industry, Big Apple will continue to be your definitive destination for all your reptile needs.

Challenge
Big Apple Herpetological, Inc. approached Montage to help with design and implementation of a new Netsuite endeavour. Big Apple was using a proprietary ecommerce site that was no longer supported by its creator and did not offer the flexibility, and scalability of a newer modern design.

NetCommerce provides comprehensive ecommerce tools integrated with inventory and order management and sales, service and marketing.

Big Apple was also looking to capitalize on the cost savings of centralizing the business operations (payroll, wholesalers, suppliers, inventory, CRM, ecommerce, marketing, etc...) within a full ERP solution. Netsuite was selected to accomplish this task.

Solution
Montage has provided a custom Netsuite design which includes:

• custom home page with easily modifiable features
• custom main site theme
• category layouts
• product layout item templates
• consultation in the setup and customization of the product database
• copyrighting services
• migration of old site product images and descriptions to Netsuite
• migration of old site content into the new aesthetic

Overall the work completed better represents the product and the company and we anticipate it will continue with its metamorphosis as focus is shifted to improving the user experience and better search engine positioning through thorough optimization within the framework of Netsuite.
